*Job Description:*
Better is Better LLC home care is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to provide assistance in daily living activities and perform other related services in the home and/or workplace according to the needs of the residents.
*Skills:*
* Positive attitude and or ability to work well with others.
* Ability to handle physical demands (lifting, bending, carrying) as well as mental (thinking, writing, reading).
* Ability to use and follow instructions as well as maintain open communication with the employer, residents, family members, and colleagues.
* Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to caregiving.
* Caregiving experience preferred.
* Willingness to undergo background check.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Caregiving experience preferred but not required.
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, etc.
* Encourage residents to do their own light housekeeping so they can get more independence.
* Assist with meal preparation.
* Assist with household maintenance such as washing dishes, mopping floors, and cleaning windows.
* Perform household checks on a regular basis to make sure everything is in working order and all residents are safe.
* Report any unusual incidents such as illness, injury, or change in resident condition to the Director of Operations or supervisor.

*Duties:*
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in need, including children, adults, or seniors
- Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed by a nurse or healthcare professional
- Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with special needs or challenging behaviors
- Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents or clients
- Follow established care plans and document any changes or observations
- Promote resident rights and advocate for their needs and preferences
- Collaborate with other caregivers, nurses, social workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals under your care
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a caregiver, nurse, or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures and first aid techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals who may have limited mobility or require assistance
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and experience working with individuals on the spectrum is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine desire to help others
