Provides professional nursing care for patients using/following established standards and practices consistent with hospital policies.
Position consists of both clinical and non-clinical duties.
The LPN is part of the team of caregivers who work with various physicians depending on the need.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
High School diploma or equivalent.
2.
Current unrestricted license issued by the West Virginia Board of Practical Nursing.
3.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start date.
4 Department Specific: ACLS certification within six (6) months of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : EXPERIENCE: 1.
One (1) year of clinical experience in the cardiac monitor tech role.
2.
Emergency medical technician experience.

Responsible for understanding differences and adjusting care as related to age and developmental level from adult to geriatric ranges.
2.
Assess the medical needs of the patient.
3.
Performs nursing care procedures safely and efficiently.
4.
Demonstrates understanding of and adheres to Infection Control policies.
5.
Assists RNs and other personnel in clinical area by providing direct and indirect patient care.
6.
Must understand patient’s charts, doctor’s orders and medication orders to communicate with patients, families and staff.
7.
Prepares and maintains all aspects of a medical record, including the tracking of all ordered tests and results required.
8.
Maintains a safe working environment.
9.
Helps maintain effective working relationships with patients, families and other staff.
