Perform a wide variety of landscaping maintenance functions related to the care and upkeep of hospital grounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
Valid Driver’s License – Must be maintained during employment period.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
High School diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: 1.
One year experience in the groundskeeping field.
Experience in landscaping, snow removal, design, and basic landscape equipment/machines.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.

Properly operate, maintain care and upkeep of the following equipment and tools: 3.
4 Ton Pick Up Truck Ventrac Power Brooms Bob Cat Dump Truck Push Mowers Dethatcher Back Pak Blowers Weed Trimmers Edger Spreaders Brooms Rakes Chain Saw Pressure Washer Salt Spreaders Liquid Calcium Spreader 2.
Properly completes all required departmental documentation and reports.
3.
Maintains lawns, shrubbery and trees including planting, watering, trimming, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and weed and pest control.
4.
Prepares areas for planting by clearing, grading and fertilizing and watering appropriate areas.
5.
Mulches all flower beds, trees and other designated areas as needed.
6.
Picks up and disposes trash and debris in assigned areas using rakes, brooms and blowers.
7.
Installs and assures the proper operation, maintenance and repair of in-ground sprinkler systems 8.
Trims hedges and shrubs with hand shears or power edgers.
Prune and trim trees.
Removes dead trees and plants using handsaws, chain saws and clippers.
9.
Maintains all sidewalk, roadways and canopy area of debris by using pressure washer, vacuum sweepers and blowers.
10.
Maintains all structures that require painting and maintenance, (i.
e.
stair rails, sidewalk poles, etc.
).
11.
Maintains all signage in parking area including ones hanging from light poles.
12.
Maintains all potholes and asphalt patching required on all roadways and sidewalks repairs of concrete.
13.
Maintains all parking gates, Security Booths and parking equipment as needed.
14.
Reports suspicious or unusual objects or packages left on property unattended to supervisor or security officer.
15.
Reports any situation that might be potentially hazardous for pedestrians to supervisor.
16.
Operates Hospital-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, 100% of the time.
17.
Ensures safety and proper operating condition of vehicles by performing vehicle inspections, as outlined by departmental policy.
18.
Demonstrates regard for the dignity, respect and safety of all patients, family members, visitors and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of the organization.
19.
Maintains all areas of campus of snow and ice removal 24/7 with having to be on duty for long hours.
