*POSITION DESCRIPTION* *Title: Bookkeeper – Junior Accountant* *General: * A bookkeeper is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, updating the general ledger managing accounts receivables/payables, and preparing trial balances for accountant review.
Will assist with creating and maintaining robust accounting procedures.
Will monitor cash flow and produce financial statements and other reports to assist business management and ownership with making strategic decisions.
May also assist in processing payroll and filing regular non-income tax returns.
*Responsible To:* Location Manager *Responsibilities and Duties:* * Establishing different accounts * Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying * Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures * Developing systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts * Maintaining subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying and allocating transactions * Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts * Maintaining a balanced general ledger * Preparing a trial balance for accountant review * Preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing financial information * Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local legal and tax requirements * Monitoring for variances from projected budgets * Advising management on compliance or financial topics * Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices *Qualifications:* Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency.
Bookkeeping experience required.
*Experience/Knowledge:* Good organizational skills.
Willing to function as a cooperative team member.
Responsible and cooperative attitude.
Excellent organizational skills.
Customer service experience preferred.
Experience with QuickBooks required.
Proficiency with Excel.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, or equivalent needed.
