Systems Integrator provides support to the US DOE Office of Legacy Management IT Projects team.
The Sr.
Systems Integrator will leverage their knowledge and experience to participate on teams to develop key new IT capabilities or to modernize and enhance existing capabilities, artifacts, and processes.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions of this position: • Support project lifecycle of defining the scope, timeline and budget for a new project and then designing, implementing, and testing the solution.
• Assist in refining requirements by working with stakeholders, end-users, and technical counterparts to identify “best-fit” technical solutions to meet business and work-flow requirements.
• Participate in identifying IT solutions and opportunities for systems improvement.
• Collaborate to ensure a robust and repeatable solution.
• Identify technical problems, troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software issues and recommend next steps.
• Document architecture and design of the implemented solution.
• Create and present technical documentation, user manuals and other project artifacts.
Describe work experience required to perform job: • Experience supporting project lifecycle including configuration management, eliciting requirements, system design, developing test cases, and deploying to multiple environments.
• Experience working on teams to design solutions and integrate IT systems.
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience coordinating with other team members and ensuring problem solution, appropriate risk reduction, and user satisfaction.
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience preparing test cases, deployment plans, and coordinating software installations or upgrades.
• Experience migrating legacy systems to newer technologies.
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience in technical writing, interpersonal communication skills, and presentation/training skills.
• Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Meets goals and deadlines, delivery dates.
• Well-developed skills in troubleshooting and able to solve complex systems issues.
• Experience in four or more of the following areas: systems design and architecture, geospatial architecture; data management, software engineering, project management, governance and compliance, network operations, telecommunications, solution implementation and support, electronic records systems, information technology management, or related area.
List skills and capabilities needed to perform this position: • Must be able to work together and communicate maturely and professionally with co-workers and federal customers.
• Ability to coordinate across remote team members, management, and customers • Ability to see the big picture, viewing the total systems perspective with a technical understanding of relationships, dependencies and requirements of hardware and software components.
• Strong inter-personal and written communication skills.
• Presentation/training skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Eagerness to learn new tools.
List technical knowledge that is required to perform position: • Working knowledge of a project lifecycle, configuration management, IT Governance, and risk management frameworks • SQL Server and SQL Query Language • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Visio©, Word©, Excel©, PowerPoint© • Configuration management tools.
• Knowledge of C#, ASP.
NET, and .
NET Frameworks and Web Services is desired.
M365 platform functionality/administration with specific experience with SharePoint/Teams/OneDrive Bachelors degree in Computer Science and at least nine years of job-related experience or equivalent.
May supervise support personnel as required.
Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
Position may require travel.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
