The West Virginia University Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services (CCPPS and Health Sciences Center (HSC) are seeking applications for a full-time, twelve-month Behavioral Health (BH) Clinician.
This embedded role will be responsible for providing brief assessment, triage, linkage, and short-term intervention and support as appropriate for Health Science students presenting with diverse behavioral health concerns.
As an integral member of the Carruth Center and BeWell teams, the BH Clinician will provide a range of outreach services to students, faculty, and staff.
The BH clinician will provide strategic leadership at BeWell and deliver clinical services at the Health Sciences Center and other Carruth Center locations as needed.

Wellness programs What you'll do: Provide in person and virtual clinical services for Health Science students and occasionally the students in other divisions/schools.
including but not limited to assessment, treatment planning, brief counseling, group therapy, crisis intervention services, psychoeducation, afterhours call, and case management.
Provide and documents risk assessments and risk reduction interventions.
Facilitate HSC and other student access and transition to appropriate mental health providers for ongoing pharmacologic and behavioral therapies.
Provides case management for HSC students who require care that is more specialized or longer term.
Participate in the staffing of the CCPPS after-hours phone.
Provide consultation and outreach to students and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the university community.
Complete required documentation on an electronic health record system and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
Attend case conference, committees, task forces, related to the mission of HSC, CCPPS, Student Life, and the broader WVU community.
As needed provide clinical supervision and training for the training program.
Participate in wellness activities at regional campuses as needed, traveling to regional campuses and other venues, as necessary.
Provide 25-27 weekly direct service (clinical, outreach, supervision) hours .
May work outside of typical business hours as required.
Qualifications MA/MS/MSW, in social work, counseling, clinical/counseling psychology, or a related field.
Completed a Master’s or Doctoral level degree from an accredited program in Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical/Counseling Psychology.
One or more years of Behavioral Health assessment and counseling for traditional and nontraditionally aged university students and/or young adults.
Proficiently conduct, document, and evaluate multiculturally-sensitive, BH assessments, risk assessments, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach with the HSC student population.
Demonstrated clinical competence and skills working with substance use and other co-occurring disorders.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and sustain partnerships with HSC and CCPPS faculty and staff.
Ability to effectively utilize an electronic health record system.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in conducting and documenting risk assessments for suicide and violence.
Geographical availability to provide timely on campus emergency responses during on call weeks.
Requirements Required: WV Provisional License and/or License (LPC, LICSW, Psychologist) within 2 years.
