The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) program.
Primary duties include cultivating and stewarding CMNH national corporate partners, programs and events as well as developing community-based fundraising initiatives.
This employee will also work in close cooperation with all members of the WVU Medicine Children’s development team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
Bachelor’s degree required EXPERIENCE: 1.
2-4 years’ experience in communications, public relations, marketing required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1.
Master’s degree preferred.

1.
Organize, implement, and direct a comprehensive Children’s Miracle Hospitals (CMNH) program which represents the needs of WVU Medicine Children’s and creates a positive image relative to the mission and vision.
2.
Work closely with the CMN national representatives to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, report performance metrics, and represent CMNH with professionalism in the community and within the diverse audiences of CMN to ensure information about the program is effectively articulated in an appropriate manner.
3.
Serve as contact and relationship manager of lead CMNH corporate partners, small national corporate campaigns, programs and community events.
Actively cultivate representatives and organizations to participate in fundraising efforts, including soliciting and increasing corporate sponsors, managing event logistics and effectively managing volunteers.
4.
Develop and maintain support materials including communication, marketing, collateral, budgets, stewardship and recognition pieces appropriate for the execution of the program.
5.
Study national and regional trends in CMNH fundraising using data available from various published sources to ensure growth and success of the program.
Implement and monitor strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of potential and current donors, volunteers, grateful patients and sponsors.
6.
Manage relationships with partners and Children’s Hospital leadership to build opportunities for additional support from sponsors, individuals, volunteers, and grateful patients.
7.
Maintain and update contact information and fundraising records regarding CMNH national/local partnerships.
8.
Develop and maintain support materials including communication, marketing, collateral, budgets, stewardship and recognition pieces appropriate for the execution of the program.
9.
Collaborate with other members of WVU Medicine Children’s, Health Sciences and WVU Foundation development teams on cultivation of major gift prospects identified through the CMNH program.

An average of 40-50% of work hours per week will be spent out of the office and in the community building and strengthening relationships with CMNH retail partners and CMNH program ambassadors.

Must be willing to travel throughout the state of West Virginia and the surrounding region multiple times throughout the week.

Skilled and respected communicator with exceptional writing, storytelling and presentation skills, along with sophisticated knowledge of visual media.
2.
Excellent understanding of complex and changing healthcare issues, especially related to academic healthcare institutions.
3.
Ability to formulate coherent communication strategies, to translate complex issues and topics into understandable language, and to tailor clear and persuasive messages to different audiences across a variety of communication platforms.
4.
The professional presence and expertise to engage, build relationships and provide communications counsel to senior leaders, as well as other leaders, internal groups, committees and employees.
5.
Understanding of changing trends and technology in communications and in society, especially relating to an academic healthcare facility.
6.
