PURPOSE STATEMENT
The West Virginia Black Bears are looking for a member of our team to come in with a passion and commitment to be the best and are motivated by the opportunity to grow their respective careers.
The Sponsorship & Sales Manager will be responsible for sponsorship, and ticket sales (season tickets, group packages, suites and sponsorships via phone calls, face to face appointments, in-stadium meetings and special events), coordinating game day promotional events, developing non-game day events, assist with marketing and oversee intern and game-day associates.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Sell sponsorship to new/existing clients
Advocate group sales to local businesses and organizations
Make ticket sales (specifically groups and suites) in the ProVenue ticketing system
Manage a portfolio of accounts by building/fostering relationships with clients
Aid in development of off-season/non-game day events hosted by the West Virginia Black Bears including acquiring funding/sponsorship, planning and promotion, and execution of events
Work with the team creating new ideas and inventory for sponsorship sales, promotions, ticket packs, etc.
Overseee hospitality during West Virginia Black Bears games, checking on suites, sponsors, etc.
Aid others in game day duties during West Virginia Black Bears’ games as needed
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree accepted
Experience in sales and account management is preferred
Experience working in sports is preferred, but not required
Personable; hospitality work experience is a plus
Strong desire to learn about the business and grow your professional career
Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
Be able to generate original and imaginative solutions to business opportunities
Demonstrate a positive attitude and maintain a flexible work schedule
