Museum Store Retail Sales Associate – Full Time

Fallingwater (Mill Run, PA) Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seeking a full-time Museum Store Retail Sales Associate.
The function of this position is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Museum Store, with a focus on selling merchandise and providing excellent customer service.

Job Duties Assist senior staff in daily cash receipts/closing report and item reports.
Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and balancing register at the end of the day.
Assist in the proper handling of inventory, and take steps to prevent damage.
Serve and assist customers with purchases.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Restock inventory in Store; inform senior staff when product is low.
Assist with end-of-year inventory count.
Incorporate WPC’s constituent-focused customer service values in work habits and interaction with others.
Encourage visitors to become members.
Sell WPC memberships in Museum Store.
Support the Conservancy’s cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable.
Clean the Museum Store and maintain its appearance daily.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications At least two years of retail sales experience is required.
Relevant sales experience in a gift store, boutique or home décor environment is desirable.
Professional customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively are required.
Must demonstrate a professional and positive attitude especially when communicating with customers, fellow co-workers and management team.
Must be familiar with computerized Point of Sales systems and possess applicable computer skills.
Experience with cash handling is strongly preferred.
Flexibility with schedule, hours and ability to work weekends and holidays are required.
Ability to meet all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
